empty lunchbox

Pada suatu waktu, kita pasti pernah berada di salah satu situasi berikut ini : 

• Terlalu banyak pesan makanan di restoran atau karena porsinya terlalu besar, jadi nggak habis. Trus minta dibungkus.
• Acara arisan atau kondangan atau semacamnya, dan makanannya sisa banyak karena tamu undangannya nggak banyak yang dateng. Trus kita boleh bawa sebagian dari makanan itu untuk dibungkus dan dibawa pulang.
• Jadi student yang duitnya tiris atau anak kos yang kelaperan, dan berhasil dapet akses masuk ke suatu acara besar yang makanannya melimpah. Kalo semuanya dicicipin sedikit2 pun, bisa2 nggak sanggup jalan saking kekenyangan. Trus mendingan sebagian dikantongin aja.
• Maen ke rumah temen atau sodara trus dibawain bekal makanan untuk di perjalanan atau untuk di rumah. 

Kalo udah gitu, pasti yang kebanyakan dipakai untuk membungkus adalah kantong plastik sekenanya atau rantang yang musti dikembalikan ke pemiliknya. Well, beberapa restoran biasanya membungkus makanan dengan baik.. tapi pada akhirnya, semua pembungkus sekali pakai (disposable box) berdampak buruk dan kurang ramah terhadap lingkungan.

Ada baiknya kita mulai peduli sama lingkungan sekitar. Kita bisa koq, mengurangi sampah plastik dkk itu dengan membawa kotak makan. Jadi, sewaktu2 ada makanan yang perlu dibungkus, dapat langsung dibungkus rapi di kotak makan. Sekarang ini banyak jenis kotak makan yang menarik di pasaran, seperti yang pernah dibahas dikit di post lunchbox.

So, this is what we can do :

• Have a small empty cleaned lunchbox in our bag. Anytime we found leftovers, allez hop, straight into the box. Bawa kotak makan yang kosong dan bersih. Sewaktu2 ada kesempatan untuk membawa makanan, langsung beres dalam sekejap. 
• Hal tersebut berlaku sama dengan membawa tempat minum isi air. Also carry a water tumbler at all times. Whereas the water keeps us hydrated, we can refill the tumbler when we found a free water fountain or water dispenser. In case there are some refreshing drink treat leftover, such as es kelapa muda or fruit punch, we can throw the water into a pot plant or sink, and use the tumbler to take home some cool refreshments.

Using lunchbox means less trash. Pakai kotak makan akan membantu mengurangi sampah. Mengurangi jumlah pohon yang ditebang untuk kertas pembungkus, mengurangi jumlah plastik yang mencemari lingkungan dan sulit terurai dan mengurangi zat kimia yang merusak lingkungan sekitar. Membawa kotak makan juga membuat kita makan secukupnya. Kita cenderung menghabiskan semua makanan meskipun sudah kenyang, karena tidak mau menyia2kan rezeki makanan yang ada. Nah sekarang, kalo udah kenyang dan masih bersisa, bisa langsung bungkuuuss.. pakai kotak makan. 

Let's do something nice to our environment. Mother Earth will appreciate it and hopefully we won't face such a horrible disaster in the future.

starbucks planner

To be honest, the least agenda I expected to have for this year is the "hard to get" Starbucks Planner. I have collected stamps in 2012 to get myself the Starbucks 2013 planner, but I suddenly lost my interest this year. One of the reasons is : we have to get 30 stars with our starbucks card --which a shot of espresso can't be counted.

Apparently I'm not the only one. At the beginning of this year, they offered it for free if we top-up our card with Rp.600K.. perhaps they still have a pile of planners there. But Rp.600K is still too much for me. I don't need to have too much credits on prepaid card as I'm not a kinda heavy spender. Well, guess what, I've got the planner today by getting the so-called limited edition 'Year of The Horse' Starbucks card. Of course I gotta top it up for Rp.300K to activate the card, but it's a good deal already. Win-win solution.

This planner is bigger -almost twice the size- than last year's (2013) though they still use the same paperback sheets.. fountain pen ink will surely bleed. The most suitable pen is rollerball with medium nib such as classic Bic ballpoint pen. Anyway, I kinda like the layout for the weekly section; lined page on the left and weekly row on the right page. One uniqueness to be noted is on the last page. It has 2 pages of numbered dots entitled "Connect with Memories" where we can draw our mood in emoticon shape every single day. Cool... And this planner is accompanied with a sturdy canvas pouch. Yaaayyy.. !! Soo happy to finally have them.

agenda ui

Sebenernya sih, niatnya beli beberapa agenda executive UI buat suvenir.. eh beli agenda saku juga deh buat diri sendiri. Herannya, beli agenda UI sekarang ini nggak seperti jaman gue kuliah belasan tahun lalu; saat pasti tersedia di kopma tiap-tiap fakultas. Sekarang sistemnya musti "pre-order" alias pesen dulu, indent.. kaya beli mobil aje. Padahal, ini kan bukan specialty goods gitu loh. Panitianya pada belajar marketing apa nggak sih? Mentang2 sekarang jamannya social media, trus promosinya pun liwat jalur itu doang. What the.. ?!! Bahkan yang katanya ada di Gramed pun, gak jelas cabang yang mana. Sementara agenda lain udah tersedia mulai bulan Desember, si agenda UI ini agaknya baru muncul Januari.. Hellloooo, udah telat bukaaan?? *madingnya udah terbit*  Jadi kemaren itu beli dimana? Gue datengin aja deh tuh markas mereka di FE.. yaah, berhubung perlu beli suvenir itulah. Harusnya mereka belajar dong, bahwa customer nggak boleh diperlakukan semena2 begitu. Mustinya, agenda ini bisa dipake sebagai alat pemersatu atau memperkuat kekeluargaan civitas academica. Mungkin mereka pakai strategi bertahan aja karena agenda macam ini kurang laku. Mungkin, saking kencengnya hempasan teknologi, para mahasiswa menganggap nggak jamannya lagi pakai agenda macam ini. Semua serba elektronik, pakai reminder di smartphone atau tablet.

Anyway, desain agenda saku UI tahun 2014 ini lumayan lah. Meskipun gue nggak suka gaya retro collage campur pop art gambar2nya, tapi layout halamannya udah memenuhi kriteria yang baik. Bagian "monthly plan" bukan sekedar kotak2 aja, tapi bentuknya 3 baris garis putus-putus. Quite nice. Gue biasanya menggunakan bagian ini untuk mencatat ultah. Dengan layout seperti ini, kalo ada yang ultah di tanggal yang sama, ada cukup tempat untuk pencantumannya. Bagian jadwal kuliah dan ujian sayangnya hanya disediakan kolom sampai hari Jumat. Memang sih, sebagian besar mahasiswa UI kuliahnya Senin sampai Jumat aja. Tapi dengan begini, mereka nggak menganggap adanya rekan2 mahasiswa ekstensi, vokasi, maupun pasca yang masih ada kuliah di hari Sabtu. N'importe quoi.. Anyway, I will surely hack this agenda --I hate the hideous cover! Untuk saat ini, udah mulai dipergunakan buat catetan things to do dan pekerjaan lainnya. So, let's get more organized this year.

hello hobo techo

Yaaayyy.. !! The package has finally arrived. The famous hobonichi techo 2014 (english version), a red cover with its clear plastic cover, the orange writing sheet (called pencil board), and 3 kinds of stencils. Although it's kinda late, --we're already at the end of January now-- but we can use techo to note anything. Just like hacking a moleskine. We'll see..

lamy fountain

After blogwalking for quite sometime, I believe the most popular fountain pen among stationery freaks is the Lamy Safari. The pen is claimed to be affordable and dependable. So I grab one for myself.. for the sake of curiosity. I found it in Kinokuniya bookstore in Jakarta. Haven't managed to use it yet, be patient for the review.. am still too excited just for having it. This is one of my wishlist for this year and got it in January !! ah ouiiii... déjà.. !! Well, actually I bought the Lamy Al-Star with ink converter. I believe it's exactly the same appearance to Safari, but this one made from alumunium instead of plastic. Mine has matte finishing, looks very classy, and comes in burgundy (dark purple) color.. which not exist in Safari. Of course the price is slightly higher as well.. but when you look at the pen, no further question asked.

cadeau

Yippeeey.. Just received these cute cadeaux from my mentee. They're all  can be found in Scoop. Luckily didn't see nor get them when I dropped by the other day hihihiihiii.. So this is a joy! They are : a pocket notebook with cute little girl on the cover, foldable loose notes, wooden clips in the shape of Eiffel tower, a small blackboard (old-fashion chalkboard on one side and a white board on the  other side!) and a mouse pad. The highlight goes to the blackboard. I like the pocket notebook as well. The girl on the cover is just so cute.
So happy and like it a lot.. of course !!
