colleague's planner - nida

This is one of the happiness of working in education environment. You'll find friends and colleagues who fancy planners and stationery. Most of educators have good planning system, whether for lesson plan, research project, professional target, or simply personal thing and household thingy.

I went to my faculty's research centre this afternoon, and met my colleague, Nida, whose planner(s) took my attention.

The purple one is a simple pocket notebook from Maruman Septcouleur series (Japan mainsite). Inside her note, she made somekinda weekly layout, like the bullet journal thing. I was commenting about the brand, about the smooth paper, the colour, about the series, etc. However, her preference toward the notebook was merely because the colour. Purple. :)

She has also prepared for next year. The grey planner is the pocket Daichi weekly planner. I used to buy this (almost) every year. But I got dissapointed because they remove the lines since last year edition. I'd love to have lined pages.. even better in grids. Anyway, to Nida, this planner would help her a lot.

For her writing equipment, she mostly uses Rotring 0.3 and some sharpies.

It's always a pleasure see about what others have for planning. Thank you, Nida !

moleskine 2018

I know 2018 is still 3 months away. But agenda / planner for 2018 is already there.

If you want a good planner, Moleskine must be one on the list. My sis is using several moleskines for her planning, journaling, etc. I've been loyal to pocket weekly moleskine for several years now (since 2012 if I'm not mistaken), but now I'm thinking to switch onto Hobonichi weeks. On my previous post, I've even  had prepared the set up for 2018.

Anyway, some weeks ago I spotted these 2018 moleskines on Kinokuniya Plaza Senayan. There were many types and some limited editions planners. Peanuts (Snoopy), Star Wars, Le Petit Prince, Alice in Wonderland.. Gosh it's hard to resist.

stationery in aeon

Last month I blew up my credit card for hobonichi madness. I bought things that happened to be beyond my budget. But well, it's hobonichi and it's hard to say no.

So I promised myself not to spend anything on stationery for this month.

But I relapsed.

I went to Aeon on BSD last weekend. As it was my first time to go there, I didn't know what to expect. Then I saw this.

Aaaaaaa....... I just couldn't resist. So I grabbed some.

And some of these...

And finally, these are things I bought. A small tote bag (cute cats), some washis, a pocket notebook (another cute cat on the cover), sticky mini page marker, sticky to do  list, a pocket cash log book, several other post it notes for dietary or expenses (have no idea, cos it's in Japanese.. I bought them cos they look cute), some sticky notes in the shape of sumo wrestler, and some deco rush.

Looks not much, but in total, they cost me big time. Oh well..

hobonichi weeks set up

Well, this is the early set up for my hobonichi weeks. I have introduced the hobonichi weeks and the Tembea cover on my previous post. This is how I arrange them all. Sorry for the lousy photo. I'll replace it with a better one once I have better light.

First of all, I protect my hobonichi weeks with a clear plastic sheet which called cover-on-cover. But then, I can't slot the back cover onto one of the pocket of Tembea cover. A bummer. Perhaps it was designed to fit a weeks without c-o-c. Anyway, still fine.

For the pen, I put last year's bonus pen because it match the colour theme. I will have to replace the refill cos it ran out of ink.

On the right side, there are some cards inserted to the card slots. Mostly reward cards and a cash card (e-money) for small expenses. Behind those cards, it's my phone tucked on the slot. Behind the planner, there's also a slot which I put my pocket money (few bank notes just in case).

Yeah, I intended to have it as an everyday wallet. And I think it may work really well.

hobonichi sydney

Last August I had a chance to visit Australia. It was a business trip and I  was part of a team. Didn't have time for fun or look for stationery, but I managed to take picture of my techo in front of the famous Sydney Opera House.

See ya mate !

taiwanese schedule book

It's not 2018 yet, but I already have 3 planners.

Yep.

As you might have read on my previous post, I bought 2 hobonichis. An A6 english planner and a weekly planner. But I haven't told you about one cute planner I got from my colleague. She recently on duty to Taiwan, and she bought me some postcards, mint (postal) stamps and a plannnneerrrr !! Yea, she knows me so well ;) Best souvenir everrrrr !!

So, here's how the planner look like.

It's dubbed as schedule book, just like normal weekly planner. There's monthly grid (one month in two-page spread), then the weekly on the next sheets (one week on the right hand side, and the (supposed to be) blank page on the left hand side. Usually, you'll find the weekly side on the left -- such as on moleskine and hobonichi.

Anyway, the blank page on the left hand side is not totally blank. It's decorated with cute 'watercoloured illustrations'. Well yeah, I think this planner is more less for happy / fun stuff. For instance to note down when you meet up with the girls, movie night, a date with him, when you're in love, weekend gateway, perhaps mood tracker.. those kinda stuff.

One more thing. This planner starts from September 2017 to December 2018 (18 months).. so I can use it right away. Yippeeyyy..!!

filofax butterflies

On one fine weekend in July, I just lost my mind and splurge on a filofax. I've been spying these filos on Gramedia bookstore Grand Indonesia (and Pondok Indah Mall) for the past couple of months. So, this time I decided to get one. There was only one left from butterflies series in personal size. There were many of saffianos (red, purple, green) and geometric though.

So, without further ado.. tadaaaahhh...

I like this butterflies. The faux-leather is so soft and I really like the colour. Pale blue on the outside and soft pink on the inside. It also has enough card slots. Well, I think 6 slots are enough for the cards I plan to put. E-money (indomaret), Flazz, Starbucks, business cards..

I still don't know if I can use it to the max. I have ideas on how to set it up, but I'm afraid I won't have time to make it happen. It will be hard for me to customize the inserts too, but there may be many cute ones available on the market. Well, let's see about it later.

Anyway the young lad on the cashier was stunned when he read the price IDR 567k. I explained it's not just a planner, but collectible item and it used to be so hard to get in Indonesia. He noded, but I don't think he'll ever understand.

I checked on UK and US filofax website, this particular item was not on the list. However, it's  available on  Filofax  Australia, but AUD 79.95 is much more expensive than the price offered by Gramedia. Plus, I don't have to spend more money for shipping cost and taxes.

essential hobonichi 2018

As usual, Hobonichi release for the upcoming year is set to be on September 1st. This year, I decided to jump into the chaotic first day release. The website was jammed and the transaction was a total fail for me. I felt the excitement since weeks before the date on facebook group page. There were so many discussion and alerts about which cover, what size, etc.

At first I wanted to have an A5 zip cover of Mina Perhonen Mermaid. But then I thought 12,960 Yen for cover would be too much for me. A5 would also too big to be carried around. The A6 alone has already become a substantial added weigh in my bag.

Then, I was thinking to convert. From pocket weekly moleskine to hobonichi weekly. I think the price I had to pay for Doraemon special edition moleskine last year was a bit too much. I spent about IDR 300,000 (approx. USD 22) for that particular moleskine, while it only cost 1,944 Yen (approx. USD 17 or IDR 233,000) for Hobonichi weekly. I picked the neutral colour of its hardcover, sand gray. The weekly doesn't need a cover actually, but I want to have it in some kinda pocket with some essential cards and pocket money. Like a wallet with a notebook inside. No worries, Hobonichi provides all that I need. The cute zip cover for hobonichi weekly is called Irma. But I don't like the leather for the inner cover. And it costs 12,960 Yen. For the same price, I should pick A5 Mermaid instead. I scroll the next cover.. and I thought the Tembea Tote Book is not that bad. I know 8,640 Yen is expensive for a cover made by canvas, but it's the lowest priced among others. Anyway, I think this cover is versatile.. let alone I may decorate that plain canvas (I'll think about it later).

I will still continue journaling using an A6. This year, they have special Steiff edition of the english planner. Same price, just like the usual english A6, and same layout inside the planner. The only difference is the small bear logo on the front cover. It I use a cover, it won't be visible. But I bought it instead the usual one. The feeling of having a special edition is more than enough.

Oh, I didn't buy any A6 cover for this year. I still in love with my Ukrainian Flowers cover from 2017 edition. They still available on this year's website though.. *sigh* I remember how I had to buy it from ebay last year cos it was sold out only in couple of hours on the release day. I finally able to buy it again from hobonichi website few months afterwards.

Well, that's all the Hobonichi essentials I have for 2018. I bought some accessories as well, but I will talk about them next time.
