daiichi schedule check 2017

And I'm not happy with it.

First of all, cover. Orientasinya berubah dari landscape ke portrait. Lalu soal warna.

Sebagaimana orientasi cover, maka bagian dalamnya pun berorientasi portrait. Hnnggggg.... I don't like it at all. Now you have to spread the page. Gosh.

I don't know why they decided to change the layout. I hope they will change to the previous layout for next year's production. *sigh*

pocket weekly moleskine - doraemon

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to...

pocket weekly moleskine - doraemon special edition !!

Wise man says, don't judge the book by its cover. It's true. I was judging the planner must be 'oh so cute' just like the cover. I was wrong. Totally wrong. There's no special thing inside. The page layout is just exactly the same like the ordinary moleskine weekly planner. Weekly dated page on the left side, and ruled note area on the right side. No quote, no sketch, not even a single picture of Doraemon on the pages. There's a kinda clipping of Doraemon comic on the back of the cover though.. but it's not THAT interesting.

I know it's part of my fault. I was in a hurry so I didn't bother to check inside the notebook. But I must say, I don't like the fact that there's no extras or bonus which came along with the notebook. You know, such as address book or tab notes or stickers like you can find on the pocket of ordinary moleskine. I paid way more expensive, for what? Just a picture of that cute Doraemon on the front cover? Next time I will buy the ordinary moleskine and just paste the picture of that blue space cat on the cover.

There. I will use this planner for my daily reminder (schedule, things to do, task, chores, etc.) as it's quite small, light, easy to carried or slipped into a pocket or a purse. So well, I gotta move on from this dissapointment. Perhaps I shall hack it to the max? Let's wait and see in 2017.

doodle tutorial book

Have you seen those cute decorated planners over the net? Some of them also include cute drawing or doodles which well illustrated their day-to-day life. You may also said, I'm not thaaat artsy bitsy person. I can't draw. Sooo.. it's not the end of the world, my friend. You can decorate your planner with magazine clipplings, washi tapes, or just add some colours.

Anyway, if you wan't to learn how to illustrate your diary or planner, I found these tutorial books in Kinokuniya (Plaza Senayan, Jakarta). My Pak Boss bought them for me as birthday present. Un cadeau !! Yaaaayyyy.. !! Sooo haaappppyy.. I actually have had another two books from the same author (Kamo) before.

I don't speak nor can read Japanese at all. However, I can learn many things from these books, as they provide a simple step-by-step guide on how to draw something. Not all steps though.. but mostly inspired me to draw things.

The price? The book on the left is Rp 241 thousands (about USD 18), and the right one is Rp 150 thousands (about USD 11.5)

2017 printables

Hey y'all..

It's December. For some of us, we're so excited with new planners and calendars thingy. Personally, I have bought some planners and will prepare a customized planner with inserts I designed myself (nothing fancy, mostly functional) and from free printables available online.

As for 2017 desk calendar, I haven't bought one. I think I will print from one of these links I found recently.

Scattered Squirrel - simple, clean, nicely designed full size calendar, start on Sunday. Originally from the US, so the paper size is "letter". You can print them on A4-sized paper though.

The Handmade Home - beautifully designed calendar and planner inserts. There are several patterns to choose, mostly in mild pastel colours. There are A4 and A5 size available. Many thanks!

Botanical Paperworks - three stylish calendars available. I'm not sure about the size, but I think it's in A4. I like the chalkboard design.

Imom - another cute calendar. Available to be downloaded per month in A4 size.

Sarah Titus - there are calendars for 2017 (two versions), 2018, and even 2019. Cute.

They're all beautifully designed and some of them also share other printables as well.. you know, such as contact list, meal plan, weekly planner, etc. And they're all FREE !! Well of course, you must respect their effort to prepare those printables by citing their works.

Go see for yourself and have a great day !

sommaire

To wrap this month, I should say some things here.

I recently revisited Toko Buku Sekawan in Solo city (central java). I finally managed to find 'cap kera' notebook. However, only a couple of types available. The shopkeeper lady said they're getting rare to find one. Well, I know there's nothing so special with this kinda notebook. But the smell of 'cap kera' note pad is what I like. It brings out memory of the old days.

I will also post about my planner preparation for 2017. So far I already had several planners, namely:
- Daichi spiral schedule check
- Daichi spiral mini weekly planner
- Hobonichi A6 planner teamed up with Ukrainian flower cover
- Pocket weekly Moleskine, Doraemon special edition
- Starbucks Indonesia bulky weekly planner (but very nice design and layout)
I don't think I will buy one (or more) again. But I'm gonna print the 2017 weekly inserts from philofaxy for my A5 Filofax Fusion.

So, how's your preparation for 2017? What kinda planner you usually use and/or will use in 2017?

hobonichi cover - iida umbrella shop 'scramble'

I've been wishing to have zippered Hobonichi cover. Though it may be useful to have an A5 to carry around my things, (but) I just want the zippered A6 to hold my hobo with all the needed stuff.

So, as Hobonichi launched its archive shop (a.k.a. last year's leftovers), I hurried up and get what I wanted.. The Iida Umbrella Shop's "Scramble". It said that people are queueing to get Iida umbrella, and this cover was made from the same material as the handmade umbrella. As I like umbrella so much, I just have to have it. The colour is also very fresh and happy. I hope it will bring  a bit more happiness in my life.

The inner lining color of this cover is bright yellow. Well I'm not a fan of yellow. But well, as my university is always associated with yellow, I think I can live with that. Overall, I like this cover. No regret at all. Yaayyy !!

To learn more about the cover, here's the link of Interview with Yoshihisa Iida (the owner of Iida Umbrella Shop) from the official Hobonichi site.

inserts for 2017

It's Novemberrrr... !! 2017 is just around the corner. Have you ready with your planner or agenda for next year? Do you have a new Filofax, or Kikki K, ECLP (Erin Condren Life Planner) or Hobonichi Techo?

Say, you prefer filofax or Kikki K.. there are many inserts available on the market. However, I like functional layout (Enhanced 5 line week in two pages) from Ray Blake on Philofaxy. There are many layouts available for downloaded for free here.

Let's prepare and gear up for the upcoming year !!
