kamo sensei

I am a huge fan of Kamo sensei.

She's an illustrator from Japan and I love how kawaii (cute) her illustrations can be. You'll be amazed that total cuteness can be created from simple strokes of ballpoint pens.

If you wan't to learn how to draw / doodle / illustrate your planner, you can buy her books like I did. I learn so much from those books. The only drawback for me was... it's in Japanese. And I don't speak the language. However, the book showed a step-by-step technique, that we can follow easily.

The basic technique, explained in Bahasa Indonesia, is also available on this zebra pen website, as she teamed up with zebra pen (using Sarasa and Penciltic) for illustration workshop. I have once sat on one of the workshops in 2017 and I was sooo happy.

pink moleskine

Hello,

I saw this beauty in one of Tokyu Hands store in Tokyo, Japan. At first, I was thinking hard whether to buy it or not. I have plenty of planners for this year and I don't think they're all well filled in. Anyway.. as you may already guessed, I finally did.

First of all, the colour. Pastel pink is one of my favorite colour and as far as I can remember, I haven't seen any in my country. Second of all, it's the pocket weekly like I used to have every year. The third and final reason is, it's an 18-months planner. The price is more less the same with the usual 12-months, so I think it's quite a bargain. Besides, I can use it right away because it starts from July 2018.

So far I kinda like it. Yeaah.. I guess because I am already familiar with the size and layout. To write on this moleskine, I am using the zebra hana 3-colour ballpoint pen.

More pics available on instagram.

hobonichi weeks with muji passport wallet

Just after a month passed by this year, I realized that I'm not a fan of the Tembea cover for my hobonichi weeks. It's just like a plain canvas without any cuteness whatsoever. And I felt so damn fool for buying it for JPY 8640 (about USD 77). What was I thinking?! So I started to search for a replacement. Guess what, a Muji passport wallet is the answer.

Priced around IDR 300K (about USD 20), the passport wallet offers more features tho. I bought one without ring binder inside, so the weeks can sit neatly.
Inside, it has everything I need. Pen holder (I put a 3-colour uni-ball jetstream 0.38), yes. Card slots (accomodate 5 cards), yup. Zippered pocket for bank notes (I put my money and stuff), yeah.  It even has a key holder but I removed the clip ring because it would be too bulky. Sleeve slots for those hobonichi stencils, checked. And I put more cards on the sleeve (on the left) using hobonichi card case.

For me, I like how it looks on the exterior. I like the dark blue colour. I like the slot on one side which wide enough to slip on few sheets of papers or postcards. And finally, I like the sleek handle on its spine.

In conclusion, I better think wisely before I spend lotsa money on my stationery obsession.

hobonichi weeks set up

Well, this is the early set up for my hobonichi weeks. I have introduced the hobonichi weeks and the Tembea cover on my previous post. This is how I arrange them all. Sorry for the lousy photo. I'll replace it with a better one once I have better light.

First of all, I protect my hobonichi weeks with a clear plastic sheet which called cover-on-cover. But then, I can't slot the back cover onto one of the pocket of Tembea cover. A bummer. Perhaps it was designed to fit a weeks without c-o-c. Anyway, still fine.

For the pen, I put last year's bonus pen because it match the colour theme. I will have to replace the refill cos it ran out of ink.

On the right side, there are some cards inserted to the card slots. Mostly reward cards and a cash card (e-money) for small expenses. Behind those cards, it's my phone tucked on the slot. Behind the planner, there's also a slot which I put my pocket money (few bank notes just in case).

Yeah, I intended to have it as an everyday wallet. And I think it may work really well.

what's in my pencil case - 2nd time

My current pencil case is .. tadaaaah.. Nomadic PE-17 !!

This is one of coolest pencil case I ever knew. I have also the famous, best seller pencil case of Nomadic PE-09 --which I don't use--  as I'm gonna keep it until I have a spare to use.

I initially learned about this pencil case from JetPens website. Then, I search the internet about this product which only resulted to get me a headache. Don't believe me? Go to their official website and get lost. I mean, feeling totally lost.

Anyway, I bought them on Tokyu Hands in Tokyo. They were about 1,000 Yen each.

What I like about this pencil case :
1. It holds many MANY pens and pencils.. and other stuffs. As a student, I need to store all the essentials in one place. And... this pencil case is able to do that.
2. It's very sturdy, yet very light. The material seems to be strong enough to hold everything.
3. The colour is very nice.

I think I will also make a haul here. So here goes what inside my pencil case.

- washi tape samples
- pins (we call them peniti)
- page markers and square post-it notes
- a sachet of Optik Melawai wet tissue lens cleaner (for glasses)
- a flashdisk (USB flash drive) with label of my name on it
- a blue collapsible stapler : Bantex
- pencil leads (for mechanical pencil) : Staedler
- some hair pins
- a toothpick (inside white wrapper)
- an eraser : Boxy
- a mini plastic ruler for national exam : Lyra
- a dotliner glue : Campus Kokuyo
- a mini sewing kit : Muji
- a pair of blue scissors with cap : Deli
- a yellow cutter : Olfa
- a pack of peppermints tablets sweets : from a seminar
- a pink correction tape : Faber-Castell
- a blister of paracetamol : Biogesic
- another pencil leads, this one has also colourful leads as well : Toyo
- a Victorinox card

hobonichi 2017

The Hobonichi package 2017 has arrived in my place today !! Yyaaayyyy !!

To be honest, I will order some more later. This batch is just to secure some of the things I really like. I haven't bought any of the planner (english version) nor the techo (japanese version) as they're always ready stock. It's not the case for the cover. For instance, I really like the colour of this "sherbet" cover. Pale blue and pink.. aaww so cuuute. So I had to buy it now since it may run out of stock. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get the "ukrainian flower"..sold out under 24 hours since it was launched. Anyway, I don't know when it will be restocked. Hopefully better luck next time.

Well, these are what I bought for now..
- Techo cover "Sherbet" (plain plastic cover-on-cover included)
- Plastic cover-on-cover "Paris"
- Torinoha wood rubber stamps : expense tracker and boy-girl
- Plastic stencil/ruler (new design)
- Blue multipen (red-black-blue) Uni-ball

Actually, I might have that blue pen for free if I  buy a bundle of cover and planner. So why didn't I? Because I tried to avoid the excessive amount. We have to pay for custom for imported goods above US$50. This way, I don't have to pay for anything since they're all under US$50. Voila.

For you who'd like to browse (and buy) hobonichi, this is the link to the official website.
www.hobonichiplanner.com or http://www.1101.com/store/techo/en/

That's all for now. See ya.

persiapan kuliah diri sendiri

Sebentar lagi masa perkuliahan dimulai. Yap. Back to school. I'm quite nervous and excited at the same time. Mudah-mudahan masih sanggup mengikuti perkuliahan. Mudah2an otak masih nyampe. Mudah2an tenaga masih ada buat bolak-balik Depok-Salemba (plus hidup nomaden lagi, mungkin). Pfffttt.. bismillah.

However, the most interesting part of back to school is the stationery, of course! As for me, here goes the list...

- Sticky notes
Masih ada banyak banget. Kebanyakan sih memang 3M Post-it notes.

- File folder / File note A5

- Loose leaf
Ukuran A5 sesuai ukuran ring binder.

Multipen Bic 4-Color; Uniball 4&1 (4 colours and 1 mechanical pencil) 0.5 point; Frixion Ball Clicker 0.5 blue, black, and red; Uniball Jetstream warna pink dan ungu, dengan isi tinta masing-masing black and blue 0.38 point.

- Penghapus

- Highlighter
I don't really like to use highlighter. Usually I just underline the important words using ballpoint pens.

Satu halaman per hari, jadi cukup luas buat nyatet tugas2, janjian ngerjain tugas, dll. Mudah2an beneran bertahan selama satu tahun akademik.

- Recorder (perekam)
Kayaknya bakal butuh alat yang satu ini. Bukan kemudian mengandalkan rekaman kuliah aja..

Allez, couraaaage !!

bic ballpoint pen

I like this  Bic Cristal very much.
I like the way it looks. So simple, but recognizable from far away.
And I always like the blue ink. Medium point. Yes, this one.

But these days, it's getting difficult to find one in Indonesia.
I managed to bought some during my trip to Paris last May.
I haven't checked if it's available in nearby countries within South East Asia.
I think the distributor tend to offer the Bic Cristal Fine to Indonesian market.
I guess many Indonesian (or maybe most Asians) prefer fine (or extra fine!) point nib.

Anyway, I still have chance.
If I can't find the classic Cristal, I can use the Bic 4-Color instead.
Just make sure that the refill is in medium size.

Oh, and by the way, they're all Made in France ;)
 Eh Oui.

Pilot ballpoint pen

Another classic Pilot ballpoint pen. In my days of junior high school, I have exactly the same pen, the green one. I'm not sure if they still continue to sell this. For sure it's getting more and more difficult to find.

uni-ball style-fit monster university

These days, it's really hard for me to show my loyalty to only one type / brand of pen. I have to say, each of them have at least one interesting fact to share. This time, it's Uni-ball.

Here's the story. When I ordered the Japanese version of hobonichi techo 2015, they sent the agenda along with a silicone tissue holder and a multi-color pen as bonus. At first I thought it's just an ordinary pen. I was wrong. The pen is amazing.. the ink flows so smoothly, feels so light, and you'll have effortless writing experience. I was wondering, what the brand of this multi-pen anyway... So, after looking for a clue, I found the word "uni" on the barrel. I rushed into a bookstore to check if they have the same thing. And yes, so bought a Uni-ball Jetstream multipen. And this multipen has mechanical pencil as well. Superbe.

Well yeah, it was a great pen. No doubt about it. But they also have customized option. You can choose the body and what ink you want to have with. That what they call Style-Fit. So this time, I bought a limited edition of Monster University set. The body is soooo cute and pink. Then I choose 3 unsual colours to go along with. You can have any composition you like. Gel ink, normal ink, mechanical pencil.. any jetstream refill available. The setting-up is also very easy as you can see on the picture.
(1) Twist the pipe of the refill and pull aside.
(2) Take the pen refill out of the pipe.
(3) Insert the refill into the body of the pen until it clicks.

Don't throw away the pipe of pen refill yet. When you don't use one colour much often or you just want to switch one of the colour, just swap it, and you can securely put the other remaining refill into its pipe. This way, you can have as many combination you like and you don't have to wait until one colour run out to change it. Nice.

classic ballpoint pen

Perhaps I can't move on... perhaps I got stuck in the past... Anyway, things from the past give me some kinda nostalgic experience, something we have forgotten, but actually those are very nice things we should appreciate more.

Few months ago, I found a Pilot ballpoint pen which turned to be subject of discussion with my colleague (also a stationery enthusiat). I believe that pen is out of production and not available on the market. I was wrong. It still can be found -though difficult- in some bookstore like Gramedia. What we miss was actually the Pilot classic knock ballpoint pen. I still recall having that pen when I was in primary school. My mom offered me as a gift for being top three in the class. It's no longer available.

Guess what, now I found it. The brand is not Pilot, unfortunately, but ZAi from Top pens. This pen is named Masterpen Solid. The model, the colour, almost everything look exactly the same like the one I used to have. Well, at least I can have it to ease the pain.. to bring me back to those happy days, great moments I took for granted.

what's in my pencil case?

People might wondering.. what a stationery blogger has in his/her pencil case? Well.. stationery, of course.. haha :D Sure do. But the choices are sometime enormuous. So let me show you my stationery lineup.

First of all, THE pencil case. I used to have smaller pencil case (trousse) of LeSportsac.. but after some time, I think it's time to change a bit. Now I have a bigger pouch, which supposed to be a makeup pouch.. You know I never wear makeup everyday, so I re-purpose it as a pencil case. Nice.

Inside the pouch, there's a pocket on one side and two smaller pockets on the other side. I use them to store the usb flashdisks (one of them is OTG) and pencil leads.

I have several multicolour pens. Two of them are Bics, a pink Uniball Jetstream, a pink Pilot Frixion, and a blue Zebra pen. The Uniball and Zebra also has mechanical pen. There's also a pink Kurutoga pencil which mechanism makes the lead to stay sharp. I must admit, I haven't tried the Kurutoga for everyday note taking.

Several markers with each different needle point; from 0.1 to 0.5 and a calligraphy marker can also be found in my pencil case.

Other things are Boxy eraser, a whiteout (correction pen), Miffy mini ruler, a couple of highlighters, a Sakura Ballsign, a deep pink Stabilo 2in1 marker, a mini brush for water colour, a blue Faber-Castell permanent marker and  a couple of black Standard ballpoints.

Surprisingly, there's a tube of handcream in my pencil case. Should take it out. Oh, and a mini sewing kit in a mini green tube.

Well, now you know what's in my pencil case. How about yours? What do you have in your pencil case?

pilot frixion

Couple of days ago, I was thinking to buy Pilot Frixion pens from a japanese website. My main reason was because I haven't yet find the fine tip ones here. But I was wrong. This afternoon I went to Toko Gunung Agung near Tugu Tani and I bought some of them.

There are several types of frixions available in this store. Those with the cap or clickable (knock pen). There are also different types of tip (needle point). The 0.38 point, 0.5 point and 0.7 point. There are also clickable 3-color pen with available color (of the barrel) of black, dark blue and sharp pink. I bought the pink one ;)

These pens are erasable so they're perfect for hoboniching or journaling. It's easy to erase the ink using special frixion eraser on top of the pen. Normal eraser can erase it as well, but it needs like 10 times the effort.

Am really excited with these pens. They're just sooo cooool...

persiapan kuliah

Well, at least untuk beberapa pekan pertama hahaha :D

- Binder / Ordner / Lever Arch File
Gunanya untuk menyimpan hand-out kuliah.

- Highlighter
Kebanyakan orang menyebutnya stabilo.

- Correction tape / correction pen / correction fluid
Orang-orang banyak menyebutnya tip-eks.

Update 08/08/2016 : Please see persiapan kuliah diri sendiri for more updated version. Thank you !

toko nam bie - semarang

Toko Nam Bie is one of the oldest shop in Semarang, Central Java - Indonesia. Located in the corner of Jalan Pemuda (used to known as Bodjong street), this shop is said to be established since the colonial era. I asked to one of the shopkeepers (a lady, whom I assume about 40 years old) about when the shop was firstly open. She answered "it's been here since a long time ago, before I was born" .. Well, not quite exact year I expected, but I will try to ask for a short informal interview with the owner next time if I had a chance.

Anyway, the interior of the shop is very modest. It really looks like we're stepping into the old days. Quite magical for me.. what a legacy. There are glass cabinets / showcases where you can take and see the items or ask the shopkeeper to get them for you. From what I see, the shop sell a wide range of basic office supplies. What I mean 'basic' is nothing fancy or cute.. However, I still managed to get some cute and unique stationery here. I'm in da house, y'all..

Here goes the list of what I bought. Oh by the way, they give you 10% discount when your bill exceed 20k. Woooww.. what a nice surprise. So I 'only' have to pay 67k for these things :

  • 3 exercise books of 3-lined (for handwriting)
  • 2 ballpoint pen in blue and red batik pattern
  • 1 ZA knock ballpoint pen, which reminds me of the old Pilot knock ballpoint pen, when I was in primary school
  • 1 DR drawing pen 0.1
  • 1 correction tape in the shape of whale
  • 2 pencil sharpeners, each in the shape of puppy dog and brown racoon
  • 1 acrylic ruler which has a mini magnifying glass in one end
  • 1 green stapler remover
Overall, I'm really glad to be part of this shop's history. I've stepped into the shop and bought some things as well. Long live stationery.

penco

I went to Aksara bookstore in Plaza Indonesia recently. In addition to the books, I always take a look at their gift lineups.. urban, modern, a bit retro.. but quite pricey, though. So I mostly just looking around with nothing to buy. Not this time.

Say hello to these new acquisitions. Couple of ballpoint pens and a mechanical pencil. First of all, the Penco Hightide knock ballpoint pen. J'adoooooore la couleur !! I was hooked with the colour of this classic model, with the vintagey look -is this word exist? The gold clip emphasizes the turquoise green barrel. This kinda style reminds me the era of Hawaii Five O. I haven't even born yet.

The pink mechanical pencil is Penco Passer's Mate 0,5 mm. I love the shape of the classic wooden sharpened pencil, though it actually made from plastic. Look at the tiny red eraser on top of it. It is a real eraser. I think it looks like those pencils we used to have during our primary school days. Something not to be missed. However, some of us in Indonesia might not have this kinda pencil. I used to have black-and-red-stripe Chung Hwa pencils and the blue classic Staedtler Mars Lumographs.

Last but not least, a black ballpoint pen with roller massager on top. Gonna be really useful when you suddenly got headache at the office. Just roll it on your temple / forehead to calm your nerves. I would've prefer the color to be more subtle instead of shocking orange like this one. But well.. I didn't see any option on the store.

ballpoint pen dupont

See how lovely this pen? I'm not quite fond of gold ornaments, but this gold barrel has stripes and enhance the clip adorned with gems. I am not sure whether they're precious stones or not.. but I think the clip is beautiful and looks sumptuous .

I enherited this ST Dupont pen from my dad last year. He had this pen for quite some time and he offered it to me. I promised to take good care of this nice pen as I remember how he used to take it everyday during his working days. So.. I better check thouroughly and clean the barrel. Need to search on the internet about this and I'll share how to look after a special pen like this.
